NO KINGS MARCH

Hundreds of people gathered at the third No Kings rally on March 28, to discuss the effects of Trump administration policies and ICE activity on their community while sharing ways for people to get involved in the movement.

Local community organizations and residents came together on the steps of the Springfield City Hall Public Library. The rally drew families, young people and community leaders who marched along Pioneer Parkway East and Pioneer Parkway West, causing the complete closure of the roadway.

Community members and local organizers came together for a unique charity clothing event that began as a curated consignment shop featuring high-quality and designer apparel. Shoppers were invited to browse and purchase items over the weekend, with proceeds supporting a greater cause.

At the close of the event, any unsold clothing was donated to a local women’s shelter through Hope and Safety Alliance, extending the impact beyond retail into direct community support. Organizers highlighted the dual purpose of the event—making fashion accessible while providing essential resources to women in need—and encouraged continued involvement and donations to support the shelter’s mission.

EUGENE CHRISTIANS PROTEST WHITE CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM ON PALM SUNDAY

Christians and community members in Eugene gathered on Palm Sunday to march downtown as part of a nationwide effort opposing white Christian nationalism. The group included multiple congregations who used prayer, music, and symbolism to promote messages of peace, inclusion, and justice.

Participants and speakers emphasized that their faith supports compassion and equality, not political extremism or exclusion. The event also encouraged ongoing civic engagement and aimed to show that many Christians reject nationalist interpretations of their religion.

SPRING BREAK AT SPRINGFIELD LIBRARY

Springfield Public Library and the Springfield History Museum hosted a full week of free Spring Break programs from March 20–28, offering families and teens a variety of engaging, educational activities. The lineup included hands-on workshops, live animal encounters, film screenings, and interactive learning experiences designed to keep youth involved while school was out of session.

The events emphasized creativity, curiosity, and access to STEAM-based learning, with support from community partners helping bring these opportunities to life. From building edible aquifers to meeting reptiles up close, the programs provided memorable, low-cost experiences for local families while highlighting the library’s ongoing role as a hub for inclusive education and community connection.

YOUTH SYMPHONY CONCERT

MARCH 12 2026 // hult center

Youth Symphony concert “Link Up: The Orchestra Sings” at the Hult Center for the Performing Arts in partnership with Carnegie Hall that brought nearly 2,000 students from across Oregon—including Eugene, Springfield, and Bandon—to experience live orchestral music.

The interactive concert invited students to sing and play along with the orchestra, introducing many to their first live performance. The event highlights ongoing efforts to expand arts access and inspire young musicians, especially for students whose schools have limited music and arts programs.
